The following 3 photos were sent to me by Dan Mackey. These scans are from slides that he took in the Duluth MN. area, during the winter of 2000 & 2001. These large vessels are for the Athabasca Oil Sands Project.

These cars were on a special train of only flatcars out of Duluth. For more photos of other flatcars, and to see these vessels being unloaded, click here

The photos below were posted to alt.binaries.pictures.rail by Brian Switzer. These photos were taken during July 2000 in CN/GEXR yard in Guelph, Ontario. They are post here with Brian's permission.

The following five pictures were found on alt.binaries.pictures.rail in July of 1996, I did not keep the posters name and info. The five hoppers between the load and the engine are empty. This is used to spread out the weight, because there is a bridge along the way that can not take the weight of the engine and the load coupled together.

The following picture, from my collection, is posted here with the permission of Jerry Sires. It shows cars 100 and 103 with a large load.

SP originally had four cars in this class of heavy duty flat cars (82010 - 82013) The first two were been acquired by Babcox and Wilcox and numbered 104 and 105. The second two were acquired by Coe Rail (CRLE 82012 - 82013).

The following photos were posted to A.B.P.R. by Brian Ehni. The first photo was taken in Houston, TX during February 1974.
