When the cars are not being used they are usually stored at the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot in central Pennsylvania.

The following photo of a DODX flat car was sent to me by Rich Middlekauf. I caught this one "behind the fence" at the Navy depot in Mechanicsburg. Big car, odd looking cradle assembly.
