Removable Side Sill car GEX 40005; seen at the General Electric Service Shop in Anaheim, CA in September 1982.   To unload the transformer, the unit was jacked up and supported on cribbing (wooden blocks), where upon one side sill was unbolted and slid out of the way to skid the transformer out of the car’s well.  This car was used for transformers, which were higher than being placed on a drop center frame car.
