The following photos taken by Mathias Fetscher. Mathias originally posted four photos of this shipment on found on LOK Report website. The LOK Report is a non-commercial, European railways magazine in German language, published monthly by LOK Report e.V.

They are used with Mathias' permission. Mathias also provided the specifications about the car and where is it currently based.

provided the following information about the shipment

The train transporting the transformer traveled on 15 February 2004 from Villingen-Schwenningen/Southern Germany to Lauchringen/Southern Germany where it has rested to 20 February 2004 until the flexible rail connection to the receiver was fixed. The transformer was loaded to the car in Bad Essen-Wehrendorf (east of Osnabrueck/Northern Germany), then the car was taken a few kilometres to Bohmte by VLO (Verkehrsgesellschaft Landkreis Osnabruek) and then handed over to the DB for shipping to the receiver in Tiengen/Southern Germany.

The car transporting the transformer was the Uaai 687.9 (mislettered on car in capital letters UAAI) with the Number 84 80 996 0 003-5 P built in 1961 by MAN for the DB and belonging now to RWE Energie AG. The home depot for the car is Pulheim (west of Cologne).

The following photos were shot by Michael Baier and found on his webpage, and are used with his permission. These are great shots that show both the rail and road use of the schnabel car. Also the road version traveling on flat cars to where they are needed.

Herman Jahn sent the following photos; they are used with Herman's permission. Herman has a very interesting web site on freight car boogies. It is in German.

"Met this car in 26. March 1997 here in Hamelin, when the car was visiting the Kaminski repair and maintenance shop. The car was built by MAN (Maschinenfabkrik Augsburg Nürnberg) in 1961. The fabrications numbers of the car was from 146519 to 145525 (each part of the car has got an own number (each bogie, an each schnabel-part)."
