"I was in China in March 2005 with the Trains Unlimited Tour and on March 23 we photographed this train which had a 32 axle Schnabel Car (no load) on the rear. It was attached to the rear of support cars for the crew. Seeing this car pulled by steam generated a lot of smiles by tour members. We had our luggage in the bus after checking out of the hotel at Reshui in the morning and we moving to Lindong for the next few days. Most of the day was spent following and photographing the eastbound steam powered doubleheader we paid for over Jing Peng Pass. That put us in Deban where we caught this train leaving town. It must have been following our steam doubleheader over the pass. To bad we did not get this train pulled by our doubleheader. We tried following this train with our bus to Lindong but we lost most of the light before we caught up with it. The two lane road between Deban and Lindong was not very good which made it difficult to catch up. When we did catch up this train was having a lot of problems maintaining speed with only one engine and the steeper grades as it worked its way east. Where the road and railroad separated they were barely moving and that was the last we saw of this train. The crew should have radioed for a helper."
