ON THE COVER
Gliding smoothly through the mountains of Tennessee, passengers aboard the New Royal Palm have a
chance to sample the eye-filling scenery along the route that is one of the attractions of the
Southern's winter-season streamliner linking the Midwest with sunny Florida. Here the shining rails
pass through a tunnel before curving around a bend in the Emory River, just south of Oakdale, Tenn.,
on the CNO&TP .
Southbound service of the New Royal Palm began on December 14 from Chicago, Ill., Detroit, Mich.,
and Buffalo, N. Y.; and from Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 15.
