ON THE COVER
Another landmark of progress on the Southern that means better service for the Southern's customers. This new tower at the CNO&TP's Gest Street yard in Cincinnati has offices on the top level for the men who observe and direct work done in the yard.
The work of classifying cars for de- livery to consignees in Cincinnati and to interchange points with other rail- roads is done more easily and about 2,000 cars a day move more promptly because the money was spent for this improvement.
This is the kind of capital expenditure that the Southern makes in the interest of customers and employees. More and better satisfied customers mean more work for us to do-and jobs for railroaders, not truck drivers.
