Mrs. Maude Robinson Knight of Seymour, Ind., gave the Southern this picture of the building of an early bridge where Southern, tracks cross the Wabash River on the line between Mt. Carmel, Ill., and Princeton, Ind. Mrs. Knight's father, H. F. "Buck" Robinson, was well - known as a bridge builder and construction man for railroads. He was in charge of the original construction shown.

On their way into the scrap dock at the Baltimore plant of Patapsco Scrap Corp., are these two old Southern locomotives. More than a hundred were acquired by this company.

One of six new 2250 h.p. Alco diesel-electric passenger locomotives going into service on the Knoxville and Memphis divisions.
