ON THE COVER
Winter transforms the famous Andrews Geyser in western North Carolina's "Land of the Sky" into a dazzling trackside show to delight passengers aboard Southern trains operating over our Asheville division between Asheville and Salisbury, N. C.
They see this "mountain" of solid ice surrounded by brittle, ice-encrusted plants.
Actually a fountain, not a natural geyser, this famous landmark is a Southern memorial to Col. A. B. Andrews, pioneer railroad builder and vice-president of the Southern Railway Company for many years.
