ON THE COVER

Dogwood blossoms mean spring. Though they compete as harbingers of the season with other favored flowers, shrubs and trees, the dog- wood blossoms are certainly high on the list of favorites with everyone.

The trees shown on the cover are long since in full leaf with blossoms gone but dogwood is still blooming along many miles of Southern Rail- way System tracks.

This picture of the northbound "New Royal Palm" was taken in a wooded section about 9 miles south- east of Atlanta where early April is "dogwood time."
