A handsome new plant recently opened along the Southern's lines is this
Westinghouse welding and brazing rod manufacturing plant near Montevallo,
Ala., which celebrated its first shipment of welding rods to
Gulf Welding Equipment Company, New Orleans, on July 15.

V. Duncan, fireman, in cab; left to right on ground: F. H. Knoderer, engineer;
an unknown car inspector; J. H. Royalty, flagman, and C. Heeler, conductor. Mr.
Royalty, who loaned the picture, is still in service as a conductor on the
Louisville division.
