A train ride is a pretty wonderful experience for a youngster, whether it's on a full-size Southern train or on a miniature one like the "Southern Railway Swan Lake Express" at the Cincinnati (Ohio) Zoo.
These two tiny passengers (Linda and Kathy Strybel, in that order) got a bonus with their trip - a chance to meet the engineer, Carl Thesing - though they seem to regard the occasion with mixed emotions.
The Ohio zoo train last month joined the growing ranks of miniature trains named after Southern following a ceremony in which our railway was presented a "gold" spike from the little railway to commemorate the event. Story and other pictures.
