ON THE COVER

Having finished its tour of duty with one of Southern Railway's "show trains," the "Big Dropper" is back at work again -engaged in service trials aimed at revealing under actual conditions any desirable refinements that will make the car even more dependably useful.

This exhaustive investigation of the "Big Dropper's" abilities is an example of the way in which Southern approaches its job, which is: To serve shippers better by making available to them the best that can be had in transportation today; and to do this in ways that are absolutely dependable at the lowest possible cost saving money for people.

So long as the railway continues to do this job to the satisfaction of its customers, these customers will save money, Southern will profit. ..and so will those who work for Southern.
