Colonel Harland Sanders (right) of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame and Bill Purdie, Southern master mechanic - steam from Atlanta, talk about the Colonel's early railroading days on Southern Railway. Recently the Colonel relived those days by firing Engine No.77 during part of a steam trip from Huntsville, Ala., to Sheffield. The trip was sponsored by the North Alabama chapter of the National Railway Historical Society and Southern.
