Atlanta Motor Shop Electrician Thomas H. Lindsey, Jr., recently came across several old pictures of his father, an employee during Southern's "age of steam". This picture was taken near Inman Yard in Atlanta around 1913. Standing in front of No.1700 is Thomas H. Lindsey, 24 Sr. (at far right), a Southern fireman and engineer for more than 40 years. The senior Lindsey, who retired in 1945 and died in 1950, was one of the first to operate diesel switch engines. The junior Mr. Lindsey has been with Southern for 30 years.
