The new streamlined Crescent (shown here taking a curve in the North Georgia hills) was a VIPT-this month- Very Important Passenger Train, that is. Riding in its Diesel locomotive cab, Pullman car, observation car and diner, operating department officers conducted tests that will lead to more comfort for passengers on the Crescent-and on all the Southern's Washington - Atlanta trains-in the future.
