South Carolina's famous statesman, James F. Byrnes, can now add the title of "engineer" to his long list of accomplishments. However, the title would have to be an honorary one - Mr. Byrnes was merely posing for photographers on the Southern's historic "Best Friend of Charleston" while it was on display at the Bamberg, S. C., centennial celebration last month.
Mr. Byrnes' distinguished career includes such important posts as U. S. Secretary of State, U. S. Senator, Supreme Court Justice, and Governor of South Carolina.
